# AI memory test: five prompts you can try yourself

Saving a transcript is not the same as remembering well. Use this small, fictional scenario to compare what an assistant actually carries forward. This page does not run an AI test or certify a product: you observe the answers yourself.

## 1. Leave a small, fictional fact

For a memory test, my fictional project is called Cedar. Its kickoff is Tuesday. Please keep these as test details, not as facts about my real life.

Check that the assistant distinguishes a fictional exercise from your real personal information.

## 2. Come back without repeating the answer

What is the project name and kickoff day from our earlier memory test? If you cannot access that conversation, please say so.

Try this later or through a supported new session. Check for the right details and an honest admission when history is unavailable.

## 3. Correct what should be current

Update our fictional Cedar test: the kickoff moved from Tuesday to Thursday. Tuesday is now the old plan.

Ask about the current plan later. A record of Tuesday should not overrule the explicit correction to Thursday.

## 4. Ask what supports the recollection

Why do you think the kickoff is on that day? Point to the conversation detail you used if it is available. Do not invent a source.

Look for a real supporting reference or a clear limitation, not a confident but fabricated citation.

## 5. Leave something deliberately unknown

What color is the notebook in our fictional Cedar project? I have not specified a color. Please distinguish what you know from what you would be guessing.

A useful assistant should not turn an unspecified detail into a supposed memory.
